Stuff I Knowed From Books (SIKFB) is a blog detailing the non-fiction reading list of Toronto designer Silvia Stroie.
A voracious reader, she has had her doubts about how much of what she is reading is sticking in her long-term memory banks, or how much critical analysis she engages in while reading. To combat these two problems, she launched SIKFB, which is less a book-review blog than a reflection on the things she has learned from each book, and an attempt to showcase the information in a visually interesting way.
SIKFB also endeavours to enrich visitor’s experience by providing links to further concepts, resources, and institutions mentioned. In this way, each book is a part of a much greater dialogue and is contextualized by the people and the concepts that produced it, and the people and concepts it influences in turn.
While a personal project meant teach one individual focus and information retention, she sincerely hopes that SIKFB will be a helpful resource for you too.
